The Black Stars team has received a visit from Ghana President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo ahead of their World Cup start against Portugal on Thursday.
While in Doha for the opening game of Group H, Nana Akufo-Addo used the occasion to inspire the players.
At the event, which is now taking place in Qatar, the president of Ghana urged the athletes to go all out and represent their nation with pride.
Although Ghana enters the competition as the lowest-ranked nation, their unpredictable nature makes them a challenging opponent.
After defeating Nigerian opponents in the playoffs earlier this year, the Black Stars are making their second appearance at the World Cup.
Ghana has a strong reputation at the tournament thanks to its two group-stage victories in three appearances.
The West African nation is one of only three from the continent to have advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals.
Ghana played Portugal in their final World Cup encounter, which they lost 2-1 thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo goal.
