Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane of Bayern Munich have apologized to their teammates for their altercation at training on Thursday, April 13, 2023 in Manchester.
After the game on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, Sadio Mane allegedly hit Leroy Sane in the face in the Bayern Munich locker room at the Etihad Stadium.
According to a story by the German news agency Bild, the Liverpool icon got into a fight because he didn’t like the way Sane talked to him after the final whistle.
“There was a big bust-up between Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané last night. Both had an argument on the pitch. After the final whistle, Mané complained about how Sané spoke to him on the pitch. Suddenly, the Senegalese attacked Sané and hit him in the face (on the lip),” the report read.
Before the morning workout, the pair expressed regret to their teammates for their actions as the club discussed the appropriate form of discipline to be applied.
“Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané have apologised to their teammates following their altercation in Manchester in Bayern Munich training today,” report read.
In the first leg of the 2022–2023 UEFA Champions League quarterfinal at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City embarrassed the Bavarians 3-0.
