At the El-Wak Sports Stadium during a midweek match in the betpawa Premier League, Legon Cities held Asante Kotoko to a scoreless draw of 1-1.
Asante Kotoko’s captain Richard Boadu converted a penalty in the game’s 18th minute to earn the team’s first goal.
The referee gestured to the spot in favor of the Porcupine Warriors after it was determined that a Legon Cities player handled the ball in his box.
Despite the hosts’ threats to score the equalizer, Kotoko managed to maintain their advantage in the opening period.
The Royals appeared more formidable in attack after the break as they used long passes and moved on the wings in an effort to create opportunities.
Kofi Kordzi, a forward, was unfortunate in that he missed a few scoring opportunities.
When Alex Aso, a replacement, headed in a cross from Ampadu, the score was even again. The Legon Cities forward outran Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare to the ball as he ran out to get it.

Kotoko made an effort to get back into the contest, but their attacks were ineffective.
Kotoko remains in seventh position after the draw, while Legon Cities lingers in the relegation zone.
