Mark Kwesi Arthur, better known by his stage name DJ Azonto, the king of Amapiano in Ghana, claims that it is disrespectful to be nominated in the same category as the musician-turned-actress Efia Odo.
This statement follows the two being nominated for the upcoming Ghana Europe Music Awards’ “New Artiste of the Year” category.

He said during an OAB interview with DJ Azonto on Yonkopa FM: “When I saw that Efia Odo was one of the nominees in the New Artist Of The Year category, I was shocked. I mean, how? She has a great personality and sense of flair, but she is not a musician yet.”
At the Ghana Music Awards Europe this year, DJ Azonto had three nominations: for Song Of The Year, Hiplife/Hip-Pop Song Of The Year, and New Artist Of The Year.

The singer of “Fa No Fom” is vying for nominations for the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) and the 3 Music Awards in the categories of New Artiste Year, Song of the Year, and Artiste of the Year.
During the past few months, Dj Azonto has been persistent in producing successful songs, releasing singles like Fa No Fom, “Enfa Bi Da,” “Kaba Ne Skirt,” “Add Wale,” “Ampe,” Wagaashi, and “VGMA,” WKHKYD, among others.
