The suspected murder of the District Pastor of Narrow Gate Faith Ministries in charge of Bonakye on his farm by unidentified assailants has left residents of Bonakye, a suburb of the Nkwanta South Municipality in the Oti Region, in a state of fear.
Pastor Bless Denutsi, a 50-year-old man, was found dead on his farm a short distance from Bonakye town. Blood was gushing from his nose and ears, and he was in a supine position, assuming that his attackers had struck him with sticks.
The husband left the house early on March 15 to go to the farm, according to Emilia Denutsi, the deceased’s wife, who shared the sad news with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the scene.
She described how, after making vain attempts to contact him, she became frightened.
After visiting the farm but failing to locate him, I later went and told a few church officials about the issue.
The Pastor was found dead when the church leaders and a few community members went looking for him.
This morning, a group of police officers from the Nkwanta South Municipal Command, under the direction of Detective Lance Corporal Kumi Seidu, attended the scene of the crime and transported the body to the morgue in Nkwanta South Municipal, where an autopsy is pending.
According to Superintendent of Police Lawson Lartey, the Nkwanta South Municipal Police Commander, the police are looking into the death of the Man of God and believe foul play may have been involved.
