Black Sherif, a multi-genre musician from Ghana, has received five nominations for the Soundcity MVP Awards, which will be held on February 11, 2023 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Sound Music Video Awards have been honoring outstanding work from devoted African artists since their founding in 2016.
The singer of Konongo Zongo, Black Sherif was nominated for awards in the following categories: Best New Artiste, Best Collaboration, Best Hip Hop, Listeners’ Choice, and Viewers’ Choice.
Rema and Asake both received seven nominations, putting Burnaboy in second place with eight nominations.
While Camidoh and Omah Lay both garnered five nominations, Costa Titch, Kidi, and Ayra Starr each received four.
In 15 distinct music categories, including Best Male MVP, Best Female MVP, and African Artiste of the Year, it recognizes the outstanding achievements of African musicians. The event is planned to take place at Lagos’ Eko Convention Center on February 11.
