Following the passing of former Ghana Football Association (GFA) head Lepowura Alhaji Mohammed Nuru-Deen Jawula, the Ministry of Sports has expressed its condolences.
On Saturday, January 21, 2022, his death was officially declared. Age-wise, he was 73.
“The Ministry of Youth and Sports has learned with shock of the passing of Alhaji Mohammed Nuru Deen Jawula, the former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association.”
Alhaji Jawula presided over the GFA from 1997 to 2001.
He was the Chairman of the Ghana Premier League Organizing Committee and served on the MTN FA CUP Committee.
He served as a CAF/FIFA Match Commissioner and a member of the Confederation of African Football’s Inter-club committee until his death.
