The president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has traveled to Qatar to see the Thursday match between the Black Stars and Portugal.
Along with supporters, President Akufo-Addo was traveling on a Qatar Airways jet that left Accra on Wednesday night.
At the Stadium 974 in Doha, the Black Stars take on Portugal to start their World Cup play in Group H.
President Akufo-Addo and his associated staff were welcomed upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by the Ambassador of Ghana to Qatar, Mohamed H E Noureddine Ismail, and the Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, H E Ibrahim bin Yousif Fakhro.
His appearance will give the team a huge morale before their match against Portugal on Thursday night.
In the following group match, Ghana will face South Korea. On December 2, the final match will feature a rematch between Uruguay and Ghana.
